Looking for a good place to stay when over later in the year.
Somewhere central(ish) would be ideal!
Thank you!
Good?
As in real quality?
Cheap?
Close to a brothel?
More clues needed.
FWIW, I use the Park Hotel. Great location, reasonably priced.
The American always excellent when I stay. 😀
And im a cheapo so last 2 times at the bastion out by vondelpark for me. 10 mins in by tram
American looks good!
I seas about to start a thread asking the same question for a trip in November, but by the looks of the American and the Park I think my budget is a lot less than the average STWer!
I know it's a hijack but if anyone wants to recommend a central hotel for under £100 a night for me and Mrs Bucko near the canals, cafes, bars and restaurants then go ahead
The Ibis chain isn't too bad, nor expensive. There's one really close to the station. Clue: Amsterdam ain't cheap.
I work at Sloterdijk, 10 mins by train from the centraal station and there's a Holiday Inn Express there, basic but comfortable, much cheaper than central hotels. Lots of tour companies use it.
Always stay at Lloyd Hotel when we go. In the eastern docklands area.
All the rooms are different and is rather niche. You can choose what level of room you want 1 star through 5 star. So far stayed in four different classes of room and each is as enjoyable as the other. More akin to staying in an art house than the regular generic hotels.
Love Amsterdam. Avoid the tiny tiny whore bit and its ace.
cheers all
went for the Lloyd hotel in the end!
awesome!
