what sort of mileage wouldnt you go above for buying a van?

Looking for a small van like a berlingo /peugeot partner / vauxhall combi type thing. Lots of them around just wondering what sort of mileage they start getting unreliable at (diesels obviously)

Cheers

I got a VW caddy 55 plate from the auctions - cheap but It has cost me in the long run. I got it at 90k but the gearbox is worn, and now the turbo naffed up. Normally I'd say you would be fine sub 100k for a new buy but it goes to show that this is not always the case - choose wisely grasshopper.

Find out who the engine supplier is. If i's a VW 1.9 Tdi, then you can probably get away with higher mileage than if supplied by someone else.

Unless the vehicle has obviously had the snot driven out of it, though, don't succumb to the assumption that it has to be post-2006 and 'low mileage' to be any good. A well-maintained 9 year old vehicle can give many more years of healthy sevice.
