Caravans

Make em pay road tax
MOT every year
And council tax because they are "second homes"

That should ease the M5 in the summer

caravans should only be permitted to use the road network between 9pm and 5am.

If caught outside of these times, mob justice is permitted and indeed encouraged.

Problem solved.

Make em pay road tax

Same argument as bikes presumably: they already pay the correct VED based on their engine size and emissions - none!

Oh dear Graham not using your brain again?

The emissions of the car pulling the offending article are greatly increased and the wheels of the frikin' thing add to road wear.

Come on, I know thinking is hard for alot of you but make an effort!

Uh-huh... and a cyclist breathes out more CO2 than a car driver...

My point is that most of the arguments against caravans are very similar to the arguments that cyclists have to rally against from the car lobby: they are too slow and get in the way, they don't pay road tax, no MOT, etc.

If only caravans jumped red lights and drove on the pavement 😆

Nope - just someone who likes to look at both sides of an argument. 😀

If you start chasing caravans off the road because they are too slow, then horses are next, then it's us.

How about a bike transport tax as that increases your weight and drag

plus make them take an articulated vehicle test, including reversing and making reasonable progress.

Re horses, I have yet to be nearly trampled by a bicycle (including even singlepeeds) that was startled by a passing crisp bag and was completely and utterly out of control.

Make it a packet of jaffa cakes though, and you'll be in a whole world of pain.

Oh yes! Caravan Tax - I like it. People that can't drive for more than an hour without needing to "pull over for a cup of tea"

Can we have a "train-spotters tax" too? I don't know what it would be based on but they are as sad as the caravan pullers.

🙂
