And BBC News reporting Patel "has left the building"..
This is soooooo exciting watching the nasty party go down the toilet...
She has resigned by the looks of it.
I can't see the people who voted brexit voting for a 'foreign' looking candidate, for PM.But how about feeding aid money to Israel in return for some large donations to various bodies which would fund her run for PM and another election? That's my theory.

The alternative nasty party will never govern for a long time but they are here to wreck the party.
What alternative nasty party, there is only one.
C'mon, even you should know that.. 😆

The alternative nasty party is the one(s) that is/are always waiting to "form" the govern. 😆
Boooooooo! she resigns, as reported on BBC News..
I wanted a sacking, I wanted Blood and I want Public Shaming.
Edit, in fact I'd quite like to see the stocks come back..
There is still Boris. Live in hope.I wanted a sacking, I wanted Blood and I want Public Shaming.

The alternative version of Boris is Thornberry. Can you see Thornberry hyping herself up ... 😆

I do live in hope, but public ridicule is spectacular.. so I'll have to accept that.
By leaving she opens up a number of opportunities without the BloJo Lies tag.. sadly she's got away with it.
But, live by the sword..die by the sword eh.
I expect the New Development Secretary will be a 19yr old out of A Level Politics, from Harrow or Eaton and be schooled in Public ridicule and a Penchant for Pork, but yet to go to Cambridge because the nasty party see "a future in Yoof" (don't forget the proposed Yoof Tax breaks to gain back the vote they lost)
The Age Of Enlightenment is upon us, embrace it Lads.
All hail the killfile
I was hoping for a sacking too. Very disappointed. I think it would have done our leader good to sack her and show she had a bit of backbone
Nah, weak and slow as she goes... thats the nasty party mantra. 😆

People or politicians either have it or they don't regardless of what education they have.
They can go to the most expensive posh school there is or they can go to the poorest school there is, there is no guarantee they can be liked by everyone.
The only people that can force power on others are bureaucrats. These are the ones that use their powers to force others. Their powers are usually unchecked.
Strong and stable...

The only mistake Minister Patel made was not playing the rules of the media by engaging the opposition parties, to the Israel government, first.
The media has been circling the sky like vulture eyeing for a "juicy snack" for a while now and especially after Brexit. The media really needs to be seen as "important" to maintain their present as the web is going to slowly make them insignificant.
Does anyone on here ever even respond to Chewkw ?- he might as well be ghost banned as it will make no difference to him but will save us the trouble of the kill file
Who?Does anyone on here ever even respond to Chewkw ?

I am providing my reasons that Patel is trial by media.
I have not made any offensive remarks towards anyone nor have I sworn at anyone for this matter.
I compare all parties with their own characters available for the public too see. Just as the opposition(s) make fun of the characters in government, it is also fair the other way round.
Party in Government and the Opposition Party(s) should be equally scrutinised. Even the media should be scrutinised.
Why do you want me ban just because you disagree with me?
I just read his posts, compose a response in my head, then think CBA and move on...
I'll bite, it isn't "trial by media"
You need to read what she's done.
Then we can still ignore your response..... 😛
Accepting resignation '....allows Patel to leave with dignity'.
What bollx.
May should have sacked her.
Lies, evasion, bias, unprofessionalism, (further) damaging UK diplomatic reputation.
Resignation allows for possibility of return to ministerial position but sacking would have removed that and sent a message - if you've stuffed up, we don't accept resignations we do sackings.
Assuming it's innocent, it would still deserve a harsh reprimand, she was on holiday apparently so why was she doing undisclosed business?
That said if she's getting the boot, Boris should be ahead of her in the line.

Perhaps she is naive (Patel) we don't know but certainly inexperience in my view ...
Yes, definitely inexperience.
No ministers in their right mind would want to damage the relationship in that region especially the very sensitive ones.
Therefore, she is inexperience in terms of the details.

Agree, it’s just more evidence of how weak and wobbly May is.
Should be back to sexual misconduct again tomorrow
One thing for sure, PP was not there for the benefit of the UK, but for a personal agenda.
She's not the sort to resist full expenses paid.
Why was she allowed to resign?, May should have sacked her (as well as kicking her in the chuff purely for her self satisfied demeanour) then perhaps send her to live in the illegally occupied Golan heights to experience what her lobbying/support for the so called Conservative Friends of [s]Israel[/s] Zionists has done to the Syrians,.
Yeah....you can probably infer that I'm not a fan.
I offer a fulsome apology
😆
To lose one minister is unfortunate, to loose two seems careless. How many is that now?
Is Patel the first minister to clandestinely make arrangements with Israel, or just the first to get caught out?
She's certainly not the first prominent Tory to visit the Golan Heights despite the UK not officially recognizing the area as being part of the state of Israel.
[quote=Junkyard ]TBH Boris lie/error/mistake/stupidity about the iranian /British woman in jail in Iran is far more serious. the complete arrogant **** wont just say he got it wrong so she will most likely get a more severe prison sentence
your own hubris before someone elses liberty is pretty sick
Though it does make for an incredible Count of Monte Cristo-esque story which involves an elaborate plot over decades that literally sees him eviscerated then hoisted over his own petard
May couldn't sack her because she too is complicit:

Party leaders never "sack" anyone. they are "invited to resign" Its just a form of words. Patel was sacked in anything other than the language of politics
Bye bye nasty, self serving egomaniac.
There'll be another one along in a few minutes.

Very true.
they do sack some but this is a bit odd as the resignation was not a resignation
Junkyard - I cannot think of any politician sacked by their party from an internal party position. give me an example please? Educate me
What was it then, a love letter?they do sack some but this is a bit odd as the resignation was not a resignation
There are reshuffles where ministers lose their jobs.give me an example please? Educate me
The veneer (or sham) of resignations being offered and accepted in circumstances of misbehaviour should be dropped.
They are sackings and should be described and managed as such.

Chris Pincher, Michael Fallon and Priti Patel, it feels like there must have been others? Charlie Elphicke also suspended..

Stephen Crabb, Damian Green, Mark Garnier, Daniel Kawczynski and Dan Poulter all under investigation but not sacked or suspended (yet..)
