Anyone else getting pop up messages saying microsoft, free i phone / holiday whatever that freezes screen not letting you go back page and forcing you to quit tab on this forum?
I have been contributing to the religion thread so wondered if it might be god acting in mysterious ways.
Not god, she uses Ubuntu.

Then the web site guys know about it - either a rogue ad or a problem your end

Easier said than done... it hijacks the whole browser.
I have been closing the browser to get rid of it ASAP.
use snipping tool for windows, PrtScrn or take a pic with your phone - either way mailing info to tech gets their attention better than threads do
I had it pop up at work yesterday - really annoying as it was shouting 'Congratulations Windows user!' Laptop speakers are on max as we use Skype/lync instead of desk phones so have it maxed for the ringer.....
I'm on a mac, so don't even use windows. I'll screen shot it if it happens again and send it to tech.
Yup, Mac user, been getting it too. Only STW, have to force quit Safari to get rid of it and am clearing History and website data after each happening, maybe four or five times so far. Currently have Activity Monitor running to see what effects it's having, if it happens again.
I've reported this thread. Screenshots or any other information would be helpful also, as others have mentioned.
Ta.
Not got a screenshot sorry but one thing I did notice was it's one that grabs your ISP information to presumably give more credibility to the idea that it's an 'official' offer - Something like "Hello <our ISP> customer, you've won an iPhone 8!"
As others, I had to close the browser. Just happened once so far, yesterday afternoon.
I had this recently (in the last week) at work.. Chrome browser on Win 7. Auto Play audio/vid advert with no quit or mute option aside from quitting the tab. Also auto scrolled the page to the vid position. Installed Adblocker - no problems since. First time I've seen that on this site.
thread title is a little misleading too btw - this isn't a Microsoft problem.
Might not affect "P" users if they're logged in. I don't tend to log in when I'm browsing through the posts, only if I want to post something.

Deffo not.... its certainly affecting my old safari browser on OS-X

Appreciated but it's bit of an OTB event (Oh I wish I'd filmed that - if only I'd known it was going to happen)... specifically since the who thing starts playing and takes over everything... and either killing the tab or browser is the only way...
I've actually set up an aggressive kill (i.e. NOHUP and NOW .. just do it) script (pretty much only for this) so I guess I could add a screenshot to the script if I get time ...
