New angler grinders appear to all have a 22mm bore, but most discs i want for carving wood are 16mm bore.
Beginner question, but will they fit? If not, where can I find 22mm bore wood carving discs?
unless you are Amazon adverse, they seem to be in plentiful supply
Will this work?
Would need to be the other way round.

Thanks, Couldn't find any for some reason.
Ok, any that are not dispatched from China? Kinda want it sooner than February.
What sort was it you were after ? theres several on there that are next day or 6 Jan
Axminster seem to have some, eg https://www.axminstertools.com/axcaliber-carving-shaping-cutter-951739 Quite expensive and somewhat lethal looking. No way I'd be putting that onto my angle grinder.
Aren't 16mm bores the standard size for 4" / 100mm grinders, with 22mm bores on 115mm / 4 1/2" grinders upwards?
You either need to look for a smaller grinder or a bigger disc / disc designed for larger grinders.
As toby says, for 22mm bore look for 115mm diameter. Search for 115mm wood carving on eBay.
I have that that Axminster one that nickjb links to above.
It's pretty controllable. I mean, you have to be careful obviously and be ultra aware all the time but yeah, works quite well.
I'd be a bit wary of putting any cheap sharp things on my grinder and spinning them up with the obvious potential consequences.
Those Amazon ones you link to look....interesting. No reviews though. Be interesting to know if anyone has maimed themselves.
Flap discs are great for rapid stock removal.
40 and 60 grit are very quick. Do short dabs to avoid burning.
I've used them a lot for shaping and carving.
What are you doing out of interest?
but most discs i want for carving wood
ive had wood disks from reputable companies fracture and smash their way around the room - luckily they’re bounced enough times to slow down a bit before they hit me. Don’t touch anything cheap and cheerful. Woods carving disks are a terrible idea frankly - angle grinders are the wrong tool snd the wrong speed for wood. Just because people sell these things doesn’t make them a good idea.
Mine was a solid disk. Imagine one of those rivets failing at 10,000 rpm
maccruiskeen has just summed up my thoughts. And I work with wood.
You've already lost the tip of your T. Don't make it a finger next :o)
Silly question but wouldn't it be easier changing the flange nut? My 115mm grinder has a 16mm threaded shank with a 22mm flange nut and matching back plate.
One of these might be useful.
IANAGS so make sure it is compatible with the grinder first, but you can then use the smaller disks.
