Is there any way to stop them picking up all mp3 files on my phone?
I have bell rings etc as mp3's for ringtone and message tone and it puts these in the player library somehow
I have tried putting all the music in the 'music' folder but it still picks everything

Prefix the folder with a dot.
Still browsable in a file manager but you will have to 'show hidden' but will stop it indexing.
Or try this trick

Try Player Pro - lets you restrict the music to a certain folder - put all your music in "Music" & it won't pick up ringtones etc.
