Just updated my nexus 5 via ota, I wasn't expecting it that quick.

It's come through on both my Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 5 this evening. Strangely after installing, my N7 is still on Lollipop 😕

Ah, weird!

I'd go check how my N5 has done, but I'm in the other room with the cat sleeping on my lap. Hopefully that upgraded OK!

My N5 is now on 6.0. Let's see what's different.

got it the other day on nexus 5. actually put off the upgrade for a few days, waiting for complaints on internet forums about the usual suspects like battery life.

I guess most of the updates are all behind the scenes, compared to lollipop? only thing I spotted was a "do not disturb" icon on the pulldown settings page, and the font "seems different" on the clock.

Gosh, that was fast.

Seems my original (2012) Nexus 7 isn't getting it officially. No doubt it'll be on XDA soon though.

neilsonwheels - got a quick response on Twitter from the Nexus folks, apparently the update might have been a security update with Marshmallow to follow soon after.

Not yet... HTC M8 should be out soon. I think they're saying before the end of the year with a few rumours of the end of Oct. Glad HTC are pretty on the ball with new Android versions. M9 wasn't a huge jump for a new flagship but their new one (A9?) is (if rumours are to be believe) a decent bit of kit.

My Nexus 5 got it a few days ago.
I nice to be able to silence the phone using the volume rocker again!
Uninstalling apps from your home screen by long pressing them is handy.
If you're a chrome user, tapping on a word/sentence whilst browsing and instantly searching it in the same tab is pretty handy.
The doze feature for the battery seems to be doing its job too.

Had it on my N5 for over a week seems fine. Got the notification on my N7 last night probably do it today.

My Mrs' N4 has a notification for an update was hanging back on doing that one.

I sideloaded it when it came out as my battery is awful and wanted to see if it worked before ordering a new phone. For anyone that can't wait for the OTA to arrive, you can manually upgrade:

http://m.androidcentral.com/android-60-marshmallow-ota-links-are-starting-arrive-here-they-are

Now on Click is impressive. Long press the home button while viewing a text/email and you get context sensitive search pop up. I had a text asking if I wanted to go to a gig. 2 clicks and had the band on YouTube. Handy feature.

Proper silent mode at last, really wanted that back!

Slight improvement on copy/paste

Vertical app drawer, which I had installed anyway

Apart from that, feels very similar to before. Possibly a bit smoother.

Hopefully a lot of changes under the surface, as it looks the same, feels the same, more like 5.2 than 6 on the surface really.

The N4 update isn't Marshmallow, it's a Lollipop patch. No official update to Marshmallow for the N4.

Freester I took the N4 updates at the weekend, no issues. As above, it's just patches / security updates. Still on 5.1.1

Yeh I think you're right. The N7 update I applied was also NOT the Marshmallow update. I'll risk the Mrs' N4 tonight!

After a days normal (for me) use I came home on 40% battery, it would normally be on its arse by 5pm.

Freester, she might find that a few apps start crashing, but I've done updates for all those which played up and they all worked ok afterwards ( met office was one of them).
