TBH if it wasn't for this Social Media platform I'd have never heard of him.
I’m actually astounded that people are saying they’ve never heard of this repulsive individual, because he’s been all over national news media for several years, which is how I know about him and his equally disgusting brother, I use regular social media pretty sparingly, and certainly never, ever go wading through the cesspool that these people inhabit.
But a pretty poor rate of prosecuting/convicting sexual offences.
I don't know how the UK compares with other countries on that score but if it can prosecute and imprison Rolf Harris I would be pretty worried if I was one of the Tate brothers.
Meanwhile, despite (almost) universal negative coverage and opinions of the Tates and their ilk, in the real world observation suggests the problem continues to grow. My son has started going to the gym again, now he's recovered from an operation, and some of the stuff I hear about the stares, comments, from other users (men and boys in their teens and early 20s) - not just to him but to the women that use the gym - and the fact that even in the 6mo or so he's been away he's noted a deterioration, really alarms me.
He goes with friends who somewhat insulate him, but also he's taken to going at ungodly hours just to avoid the behaviour - it's one of these 24hr places but going to the gym at 2am because you don't feel 'safe' in mainstream hours is mad.
[i suppose in post EHRC times he should just enrol at the women only gym instead but I'm not sure he'd feel any more welcome there. Let's not light that blue touchpaper]
I thought the Tates were currently in the US, and, having been born in America, which never extradites US citizens, some mechanism will be found by their powerful allies there to make them unreachable by the Romanian or UK legal system.
Aren’t there papers served on them in Florida?
From Romania, as I understand it. Whether they will be challenged is another matter. And the UK charges won't proceed until the Romanian charges are fully dealt with. I was being somewhat hyperbolic, the US does occasionally agree to extraditions of its own citizens, but in politically charged cases, I wouldn't be surprised if someone throws a spanner in it.
Damn……I saw the thread had new posts so opened it up in the hope that someone had offed the chinless rapist but alas….nope.

They went to the States with a Romanian escort. My understanding is that the Tates are pretty confident that the Romanian case will fail, which is partly why they were content to return there. Despite their best efforts, the authorities there (especially the part that conducts these sorts of of cases) are not the most professional that ever there was, and there have been already embarrassing volte-face, and withdrawal of some of the charges. Hence the re-emergence of the the UK charges, if/when the Romanian cases collapses - I believe the Tate's lawyers (and given their wealth, they can afford v. good ones) are reasonably confident it will.
