We walked past there a few years back while staying nearby and thought it looked like a top place to rent. Isn't it near the (remains of the) dam where they tried out the dam buster bomb concept ?

Indeed it is. I can recommend the Clyn itself, and the surrounding trails, which we new about from many attendances on Clive Powell's weekends out of Rhayader...
