I have a pretty large spreadsheet that is basically a big list of things with values under different column headings group that often group those things together. Those using it use filtering a lot to do that grouping when working on/with it. It's a pretty crucial element and to affect that would be A Bad Thing.
Now, on one of the rows I could do with embedding another document (as an icon), but experience tells me that that often affects filtering (i.e the embedded document doesn't really disappear/appear properly when the row it's in is filtered in/out). Is that just how it is, or is there something cleverer I could be doing when I'm embedding it?
You could insert a button and assign a macro to it to open the document. In the button properties you can set it to do not move with cells. It should stay in place now when the cells are filtered and hidden.

Managed it ta, seems if you select format object -> move and size with cells it appears/disappears with the row it's in. Lovely.
