My Dad who passed away about 5 years ag, born in 1931 was a working class labourer who left school at 13 thought brexit was a very bad idea. He was poorly educated but not stupid and watched his Father and Uncles give their youth to a world war.
He once said to me (about the landed gentry) you can "rob them
but you cant beat them"
