I'm speccing up about 50 new desktops, as I'm limited in budget I'd like to look at amd as they are better processors at the lower end of the market ( i know the high end i5 / i7 are the fastest out there but the pc's are only gonna be running Office, IE/Firefox and a call centre app )
I can only find a few Athlon x2 machines on Equanet ( why no Athlon x4's??) so has intels 'marketing' fund eliminated them?
Back in the day, Intel chips tended to run cooler than their AMD counterparts. If this is still the case, it makes the maker's life easier.
Businesses don't want 50 machines all sounding like Dysons, so the manufacturers try and build low noise machines, which is easier when you've got less heat to dump.
