Aurora Watch UK are giving an amber alert for an aurora tonight - beautifully clear night up here is Moray so looking north expectantly!

Something tells me that I need to live in Shetland.
Aside from the unlikely reality of moving to such a rock, I'm guessing that the riding is a bit crap.
I suppose I'd just have to switch to BMX.

What does green mean? Go, go, go outside with a blanket, or green alert meaning lowest alert, may as well be asleep?
Digital cameras pick up the green of an aurora far better than the human eye. If it looks green on camera, it’ll probably be visible to the eye but not particularly distinct (might look a hazy blue).
Conversely if you see any other colours in the webcam shot then it’s probably a stunner and you’ll want to hurry outside.
