I had plantar and it was painful. Felt like having a nail hammered through my foot intermittently. Mine was concentrated around the arch so not sure how it would feel if nearer the heal.

Also could be cat aids, the bad kind.

Early symptoms of cat aids, only way to ensure it doesn’t spread is to amputate your foot at groin level

Could be a flesh burrowing beetle, the pain really starts when it makes its way up to the groin.

Could just be a large blister, they can feel like that.

Or cat aids. Probably more likely.

Plantar, buy some insoles and a pair of Birkenstock’s to wear around the house. That’ll sort you out in no time

No pain

Have you had any back trouble / sciatica? A bit like when you get a local anaesthetic at the dentist and the numb sensation makes you mouth / tongue feel huge the numbness from any nerve damage in your feet  makes it feel like you're standing on a lump. I've got numbness in along the side of my foot and little toe from sciatica and when that first occurred it felt like my sock was getting bunched up in the end of my shoe.

I’ve had plantar about a year now due working from home in bare feet and getting back into running after a few months off at the start of lockdown 1.

It comes and goes but hurt like a needle in the base of my heel at times. It seems to have moved to my arch now and isn’t so painful.

I’ve been rubbish at carrying out the stretches etc. I think it’s all connected to tight hamstrings etc and hip tightness from office chairs and cycling as well.

I work my Birkenstock’s as summer slippers at home after I got it and bought their slippers for winter but I haven’t managed to give it the slip fully despite no running.

Must get to a docs/ physio now we’ve unlocked.

I have a back problem and do get sciatica occasionally? Need to see the doc, although its still a phone call not a visit round here

You may be able to refer yourself directly to a physio (depends where in the country you are) which is what a doc would probably do anyway.

+1 for sciatica or trapped nerve.
My bunched up sock tends to be under my toes, front of the ball of the foot. Piriformitis. Could be accompanied by a neck twinge, hip, lower back, but not always.
