Just swung into the local retail park which is where my DPD package ended up. Had on me the tracking number and my driving licence, but it seems this isn’t enough for the staff there who asked for a second form of ID. Apparently it’s not good enough that my name and address match the sticker on the box.
Was on the bike and since it was shortly before closing time I’ve been instructed to return tomorrow bearing both driving licence and passport. Obviously look dodgy...

That does seem a bit over the top given that the drivers are usually happy to leave it in a Wheely bin or a hedge so would be a bit annoying but does tie up with what it says on the website

did you not have a debit card or something as the second form of ID?
not sure what I would do if they need a passport as mine ran out ages ago so only have driving licence

DPD has always been two forms of ID. It is clear enough so why would you turn up with less ?
Although I no longer have the option to pick up from depot for some reason.

Yet I've picked up stuff from my local Dpd depot and not been asked for ID. All depends on the day and who's serving.

Maybe because all the information I had was a text from EE (not DPD) saying that they'd not been able to reach me due to the snow and to collect from the retail park "bringing ID and this reference number".
Irony is that I collected replacement router today and they just handed me the box without checking my ID at all...

Out of most couriers, they are the best in my area. Always deliver within the time slot, and we usually ask it to be left in a 'safe place' on the day - texts and emails from DPD. It's usually medical supplies for my son that we get.
