Alternative to MyFitnessPal?

Have used MyFitnessPal sparingly over the years, works ok for the most part, but don’t fancy the £65 to go ad free. Looking to monitor foods and intake over the next 3-6 months.

anyone here recommended an alternative to MyFitnessPal?

Fitbit app is free - the nutrition bit has got a pretty comprehensive food database which breaks stuff down between calories, macros etc.  you can build custom meals from ingredients for stuff you cook regularly and scan barcodes as well

thanks

Carb Manager

ia that more for low carb keto orientated diets ?
not intending to go on a keto plan

only have garmin devices, not Fitbit and my iPhone

Used nutracheck for a day and it’s not as intuitive as mfp, maybe I’ll get used to it, more uk orientated results, but less of the homemade options, which is what I tend to use from map. Hmm.

Have a look at Fat Secret.

I've not used it myself, but I work in an adjacent field and I know it was highly regarded by our public health people.

They did say to ignore the terrible name.

No integration with garmin so fat secret is out.

I just use the free version of MFP ads aren't that intrusive. Can't say that I really notice them now tbh.

Unless you need to set macro targets the free one is good enough for me.

Edit - looks like I have used Lose It! in the past too, don't remember what it was like, might be worth a look.
