[Closed] Alternative to "Microsoft Money" for expenses etc

Apologies for Friday's most boring thread.
Windows XP no longer supported from April by all accounts* and Microsoft Money apparently doesn't work with any newer versions of Windows, so looking to change accounting software (PC on its last legs anyway). What's simple and equivalent to Money that I can use with newer version of Windows? Are there Excel or Access templates that do the job? Just want something that allows me to tap in and categorise lots (100s/1000s) of income & expenses then generate a report at the end of the tax year. Nothing fancy. An Excel/Access numpty, so ready-made solution best.
(*see what I did there)

Lots of free accounting apps in Chrome.

I'm about to give Wave a go this weekend. I hate spreadsheets.

As above. I've got Money running on every version of windows since 95. It's nice because it's straightforward

I am thinking to try out the Sage software from http://www.dmcsoftware.co.uk/Sage200Suite/. The company offers free trials which is great, but does anyone here have any experience with the software?

I had to do Sage training as part of my Accounting qualifications. Was very easy to use and despite not using it at work, I seemed to be able to come back to it sporadically without having to refamiliarise myself too much.

I assume that the fact its on the course means it must be fairly widely used in the accounting profession and thats usually a good sign.

Having said that, I've never realy had to use it in anger in the real world so there might be stuff i've not come across that would cause you issues.
