Just heard on the news, a book of condolence has been opened in Liverpool so members of the public can express their grief over the Japanese disaster.
Not wishing to sound insensitive but what IS the point? Those who have lost loved ones are hardly likely to find comfort by traipsing into the town hall to jot down their thoughts, it's just daft sop to the mawkish masses.
This is probably the worst humanitarian tragedy I'll see in my lifetime (I hope), and yes, I feel compelled to help in any way I can, but filling in a book of condolence? What good will that do?
They'll be holding candle-lit vigils next, you mark my words. No doubt attended by a bunch of jobless bed-wetters that probably couldn't find Japan on a map.
