It's a fantastic story, and he's taking it in good spirit as well

He seemed genuinely chuffed at the thought of being considered subversive by such a government. As would I, tbh. 🤣

I'm surprised that UK gardening shows get aired anywhere outside the UK, let alone in North Korea....

Yeah, I saw that story. It's heartening to know that as messed up as this country is, boy, we really could be so much worse off.

NK had to be the most batshit/surreal/ ruthless country in the world.

Even China must be wary of having NK as a neighbour.

Can you imagine being so starved of anything remotely entertaining that, as a country, you run bootlegged Titchmarsh shows!

NK even has the "anti Rishi" with Kim Jong Un... In that our little fella has trousers that look like they fit a 10 years old where as Kim could fit a whole battalion in his trousers!

"I’m surprised that UK gardening shows get aired anywhere outside the UK, let alone in North Korea…."

I am finding it increasingly difficult to tell the difference between the UK and North Korea.

It staggering that from an amusing little story it takes less than a dozen comments to deteriorate into petty political point scoring.

I think they'd really freak out if they saw Charlie Dimmock.
She'd be mostly blur 😊

Little does Kim realise that his days are numbered. The Titchmarsh rebellion is coming.

I don't think North Korea is quite Socialist enough for TJ 😉

Wait until Portillo turns up on Pyongyang telly. Will be carnage.

Though I suppose that shows foreign travel, so is probably a no-no, trousers or no trousers.

Isn't it weird what western telly they allow in communist dictatorships.  Was it Norman Wisdom or George Formby who was massive in Albania?

At least they actually showed Alan Titchmarsh  on TV. I heard that Monty Don is banned in NK after touting some extremely radical ideas on herbaceous perrenials and Percy Thrower has been proclaimed as a highly subversive and dangerous influence on the youth that must be repelled by the everlasting revolution.

That's the Ranganation, probably banned too.

Stories like these don't really tell us anything about North Korea.
But they do a good job of showing just how thick, gullible and prone to propaganda we are.
