So you're judging someone based upon partial information? Also she was having a pop at the institution behind the family 'the firm', not specific family members. They even went into detail about how it's not the Queen they have an issue with, and have had zoom chats with her and young archie.
'The firm' are the controllers of the money, security, daily schedules, accommodation, leaks to the press etc.
The family are far from blameless, but you may have been better served watching the whole thing

There's some massive hypocrisy at play - it's been picked up in an earlier comment, but when I was severely depressed and posted a thread on STW about it, there were supportive comments from people on this thread who are being dismissive and derogatory of the couple.

Private Eye's issue afterwards was magnificent. A slightly dodgy cover but the main thing was reprinting what all the major papers were saying before they knew she was dead and what they said immediately after they knew plus the following days papers.

I find the pure bile against MM remarkable - it seems clear to me that members of the royal household have been briefing against her to their press sources from the outset. It was getting to the point where her and Kate would do exactly the same thing, Kate would get glowing press and Meghan would be slated.
The racist comment is unsurprising, and putting 2+2 together about which direction it came from is not hard, given the nature of the 'clarification' that was put out and other information from the interview.
I just can't fathom the treatment they have had from the royals and the press. I can only assume that their is some real animosity between Meghan and Kate, and of course the royal household will always back the future queen.

I've done them a disservice - they weren't paid for the interview. Oprah's production company Harpo own the rights to the interview and have licensed it to CBS, ITV et al. They might have a backend deal, but that bit isn't clear and it sounds like that kind of deal isn't common for these big interviews
Harry and Megan have two deals in place, one with Spotify another with Netflix, in both cases to produce content around social issues and mental health.

It's funny, I've had a few conversations with people in the last 24 hrs which start with "I'm not a royalist but..." and then also go on to say they haven't watched it and criticise them for "publicity seeking" when they "ran away to get privacy".
I can imagine the same people starting a conversation with "I'm not a racist but... what did she expect joining OUR royal family".
To be honest the most disturbing thing I heard was that her passport and car keys were taken away from her. That's plain weird. In any other setting, we'd prosecute people for trying to exert that sort of control over someone else.
This country is long overdue a long hard look at its entire "constitutional basis" and if this forces those questions I think they'll have done far more good for the UK that Her Majesty has.
