did the area around bourg to death over 3 weeks last year, just wondering if anyone has recommendations for an area that has similar weather and the yaw dropping scenery that we found in and around bourg.. we have got 4 weeks starting at mont saint michel (individual time trail) then south via the dordogne, the rest is open to suggestion.

Barcelonette. Further south. Hotter. More Provençale. Great road cols and probably great mtb too I think.

Great area, also worth a look is Briancon/Montgenevre.

Pyrenees for sure
St Lary Soulon a lovely town, although most are pretty sweet

Tbh I much prefer the Pyrenees to the alps

Good luck

If its for road riding there is loads in and around St Lary (and over towards Luchon). Its less good for mountain biking, although the bike park at St Lary is pretty cool.

For a mix, somewhere like Ax les Thermes would be good as you can also go into Andorra pretty easily, and over to the Capacir as well.

The other Bourg.... St Maurice?
Annecy?
Chatel?

If you want to look away from France how about Dolomites or Austria?
