he's not being his usual self in "punch-drunk love", and it's great.

Happy Gilmore is a GREAT film

I think he's good, but some of his films are appallingly bad - like Little Nicky

Good for you. Oh and the word you're looking for is 'think'.

I like his films, he doesn't feel the need to put loads of swearing or violence (ok there's some slapstick comedy) in them. Just good entertaining films that make you laugh and don't take themselves too seriously.

I love Mr Deeds, watch it at least 2/3 times a year. 50 First Dates I reckon is a great idea for a film and done very well. I don't think i'd go to the cinema to watch one, no real need for the big screen/sound really.

I think I'm in a minority about films anyway. I don't want to watch some hard hitting political thriller or a depressing docufilm about some past atrocity. I want to be entertained for a couple of hours and feel happy when it's finished.

Happy Gilmore is legendary, but pretty much everything else he has done is utter turd. Dont Mess With the Zohan is quite funny though.

He's done some decent films. Nothing groundbraking, but good entertainment.

I can certainly think of worse actors

** cough **
Kevin Costner
** cough **
Keanu Reeves

The only actor I dislike more is Owen Wilson, Penis-nosed tw*t!

I quite like them as light hearted films, not seen some of the ones mentioned here but seen most of his well known ones and enjoy them. Maybe I just have that sense of humour. Maybe I don't over-analyse films. Either way, it's good for me. Like owen wilson too.

Not a deciding factor maybe, but there are a couple of actors like Gary Oldman for example, where the fact that they're in it would swing it for me.

Agreed but I wouldn't be saying, let's go to see the new Gary Oldman film. Rather let's go and see the Dark Night, Gary Olman is supposedly excellent in it.

Oh, him!

Bedtime Stories is a good kid's film. I've seen him in other stuff but none of it has left a lasting memory. He's very average, but maybe he's supposed to be.

i would rate him above many actors who only ever play one character.

Jim Carey
Ben stiller
Owen Wilson

however, there are actors who, i would go and see films they are in purely because they are in them (that made sense in my head):

Gary Oldman
Ian Holm
