Please can anyone recommend a place to stay in Ambleside, either at a pub or B&B for a group of us stopping overnight following a walk up St.Sunday Crag in the Lake District, thanks.

More of a hotel than a yha tbh.
I can highly recommend the Melrose Guest House on Church Street, stayed their many times, very friendly.
Cambridge villas is a good BnB.
Whatever you do DON'T stay at The Ambleside Lodge. We made our booking over the phone and agreed prices , when we arrived they asked for payment up front and had added £20 per room extra . We ended up with the police round but they still owe us money and we WILL get them back one way or another. Its a shame because they took over a really well established Guest House set in a perfect location and ruined it
