TBF, she would have been more sensible choosing to park in one of the many empty disabled bays (although she would still have received a ticket I assume) as there were plenty of them free. Then if a blue badge holder hadn't been able to park (assuming there was suddenly a rush on disabled bay usage) they would be able to legally park on the double yellows.

Either way it was a bit silly of the warden but I guess he was just doing what he believed to be correct.

I am sure it would, but there were loads free and if she was only nipping in for a bottle of water then would any disabled bay user really be so inconvenienced enough to have any issue with her using one? At the end of the day, which choice would have caused the least inconvenience and potential danger to others?

Not to get the water from that shop.  Go to another place where there is available parking.  As I said, getting water was not a life or death situation.

The whole thing is just "wrong"....

Disabled drivers shouldn't park on double yellows because double yellow should mean its dangerous to park there. (and if not double yellows something) ...

Supermarket parking itself is weird... of course parents with kids and disabled people can go to the supermarket when they want... but mostly they don't....being disabled doesn't make people stupid... and many are retired and much prefer going to the supermarket when it's not packed to the hilt... our nearest one tends to have loss of people driving round at peak times... and nearly empty disabled bays...

Why can't they do some sort of rota ???  Then I qualify for the next Tier when the kids with me... but I don't real understand why I need to be nearer... less roads to cross sure... but quite why the kid walking has preference over someone hobbling on a broken leg trying to push a trolley on crutches escapes me.???

Then FFS... who bought ambulances with no places to keep drinking water???  and why would we compromise an emergency service like this?

and finally the parking guy probably gets paid according to how many tickets he gives out...

They spend more money

Not correct. They might do, but they might also 'just' mean it's inconvenient to park there. They basically have the same status as a single yellow except a single yellow has a time limitation. So they may be there for example to prevent a constriction, so that traffic can flow - but then in the evenings it's OK because there is far less traffic.

Disabled badge holders (my mother is one) can park on double yellows, even if it does cause an inconvenience because the feeling is that we can put up with a bit to help someone who has bigger needs than us*. They cannot however just park anywhere and parking dangerously, such as on the brow of a hill or within 15m of a junction, and they can be ticketed just the same. And interestingly (and specifically) you cannot park on yellow lines in off road car parks.

* doesn't mean they should, and my parents won't except where absolutely necessary.

Alternatively, gets fired for using discretion too freely in situations that should have been properly advised to him by his company.

As a result he is made homeless and turns to drugs, takes an overdose one day, but the ambulance can't reach him in time because they've been blocked in by the fire brigade who are on an emergency food run after their last dinner got spoiled.......

That's the point - being a bit thirsty is not life or death which is why they could just wait and get a drink at a more suitable place.

That’s the point crews are very limited on time, see page 1.

No one but the water can run out during a shift especially in hot weather.

Anyway we seem to be back to page 1 now the 9-5ers are at work.

Maybe not for the person drinking it but could be for the next person recieving treatment if she was dehydrated, light headed and lacking in concentration.

Again, not life or death so just go thirsty.  The lesson to learn is be better prepared next time.

What about the Police and Coastguard, where can they park whilst purchasing beverages?

Is that something stuck on your lip?

I can't see, is it a spider's leg from your Mum's ball sack?

Image result for lick your lips

But honestly I have no idea what you mean. Is this another exercise in not taking responsibility for yourself or are we feeling particularly over-important today? *Enquiring minds want to know.

*They actually don't.
