Every laid awake wondering what a mammoth (meat) ball tastes like?

Well, now you can find out.

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/28/world/mammoth-meatballs-cultured-meat-climate-scn/index.html

Pretty sure I also read that a company is going to recreate the dodo by implanting it's dna into a chicken egg.

That's going to be one wild picnic I reckon.

Customer: Waiter, do you have mammoth balls?

Waiter: No, it’s just the way my trousers ruck up.

I saw that story a few days ago.

The vast majority of comments were variations on "ooh, I wonder what they taste like?"

We've come a long way, haven't we.

Aren’t dodo distantly related to pigeons? So probably like chickens then anyway.

^^ Actually, you might be right there, it's pigeons they are trying to "modify" into dodos.

I'm only going to be impressed when they sell a t-rex drumstick.

maybe it's the TRex tail that will be the tasty bit, that's got to be a massive cut of meat

I think we'd still have the Dodo around if they weren't so damned tasty.

Funnily enough I'm up London again tomorrow having the old broken stump examined again, not a bloody clue why. I'm fairly sure they just get me to go up there for a bit of a wheeze.

If the appointment had been on the 1st April I'd have been very suspicious!

That was apparently also the reason one of the giant Galapagos tortoise species went extinct (if QI is to be believed). Or if not quite extinct, pretty badly exploited for meat in the days of sail, at any rate.
