I just finished morning ablutions, turned round (as you do) and see that my morning poo is deep browny red.

That's upper bowel bleeding / bowel cancer isn't it?

I've now just remembered the bag of beetroot crisps I had last night......

Panic over, for now.

Years ago in some far flung Moroccan town I used the squat loo, peered in after to see my poo covered in a bloody mess. Felt fine but had 24hrs if worry before the next mornings poo, which was fine. Turns out another guest was rather ill. Phew.

Roasting whole beetroots without par-boiling them first. Then pretty much eating them all as nobody else fancied them. Yikes.

Been there, done that - after drinking beetroot juice in an attempt to lower my blood pressure....

Eating a whole packet of Oreos in one sitting also gives you a nasty shock the next morning.

Had the same shock after feeding the guinea pigs raw beetroot!
