Want some new rechargeables for the camera. It uses 4 AA's at a time and a charger that can run off 12v as well as mains would be a bonus.
They are all so expensive I thought I might ask here in case anyone has spotted anything... and to benefit from the knowledge of all the illustrious photographic types on here of course.

Sanyo Eneloops or am equivalent battery (that holds charge well when not being used).

For chargers, just ensure it has a separate circuit for each cell, and has some kind of charge sensing circuitry.

Maplins (in store - may be available online too - never looked but were comparable with 7 day etc) often have pretty good deals though I don't have a spreadsheet to compare their ability to hold a charge to say Panasonics.

Those 7dayshop ones look like pretty good value. Especially compared to some of the other stuff I have seen. Might see what my old charger would make of them. It was fairly inexpensive so potentially not too sophisticated. Think it charged in pairs so may even worth replacing.
Have actually got an inverter to plug mains into 12v but want to reduce bulk in the camper van.

Thanks so far ๐Ÿ™‚

I have not been in recently but I was surprised the deal was still on when I last went so I wonder if it is permanent to lure people in. EDIT: Online are not that cheap.

I use the Panasonic version of Eneloops, called Infinium or something equally ridiculous. They work well.

Not so sure on the charger to be honest. I have got a half decent one, but it's a bit bulky, so am thinking about replacing it before too long....

Right, time trip actually into Maplins then, or maybe some cheap 7dayshop ones to get me going again... Those Eneloop etc. ones look, on paper, pretty good though... Might be time for a budget check ๐Ÿ™‚

eneloop. Have dozens of them, been using them for 4 years. Not had one die yet.
buy a charger that has individual charging circuits.
I can reccomend "component shop" google it.

Sanyo enloop are better than the 7day batteries i've tried in the past.
