Apologies if anyone has seen this story before. From 2014 but new to me. Basically the Glasgow to Mallaig Train was cancelled. Replacement bus arranged. So far so normal. Then up pipes a few passengers "what about our tickets to Corrour?"

All credit to Scotrail. Taxis laid on from Glasgow to Corrour.

" all for a clutch of oldies travelling on Club 55 tickets that only cost £19. No, that’s wrong: someone had a Senior Citizen Rail Card and got another £2 off."

Doubt that would happen these days, the operator is loosing the contract next year and doesn’t seen to care much anymore.

Abellio are losing the public branding that earns them a kicking and sod all profit.

In reality they will be in exactly the same position as they are now, contrary to what you said Abellio don't actually operate the trains, Scotrail do. I suspect, and seriously hope, a lot of folk within Scotrail are now worried that they're about to be found out when they don't have a scapegoat to hide behind.

(My missus just left Abellio after several years, they are nothing but a glorified administration company)
