You know those naff American musicals where some kids are walking down the street, here some music, start dancing and then suddenly there is a fully choreographed dance routine for an hour?

I just witnessed it happen at Winchester market.

Two girls started dancing to the busker playing sax. Another girl tried to join but struggled to follow the moves so the first girls step forward and face her so she can see the moves. A teenage boy joins in and sudden=ly there are 20 of them dancing away. The kids in the crowd join in, even the local homeless join in.

It was joyful and amazing to watch for over an hour.

If I knew how to post videos on here I would show you them actually dancing

About 10 English language students led by the girl at the front of the plast photo but the rest were basically just passers by joining in.

I've seen similar down a back street in Cagliari - the dance leader was in a second floor window with about 20 kids following the moves. Wonderful to see.

Peace and all good hand signs: probably French. And they're tactile.

I think the lead girl was Spanish along with the ones immediately around her. The rest were a mix of English, Polish, Ukrainian and wherever else the yoof of Winchester come from.

The busker also plays for the Drifters in his spare time and was recently playing O2 but does this for fun when they are not touring. Tony - really nice guy.

Love that impromptu stuff, just a shame you can't engineer it

I'm probably dead inside, but flash mobs just make me cringe for some reason.

Glad you enjoyed it though OP and I suppose that's the point, they cheered some people up...
