Well folks, I can't remember who mentioned this, but the idea is to take one photo a day every day this year and have a flickr (or such like) collection.

I've started mine but to be honest it isnt that interesting a mere 2 days in to 2009. However, although it may be deadly dull for others, I think it would make quite a nice momento to look back on and see all the things I've done.

I know it's Jan 2nd but I guess you dont have to go 1st jan - 1st jan, just do 365 days, or switch to the gregorian calendar or such like.

Anyone else up for this??

I should really get around to doing something like this - not quite managed to get myself sorted out yet this year (desktop PC needs set up, and need to find Lightroom to install back on the laptop too).

Probably just start trying to do that with ma blog like.

My own take on this is that Any photo counts - Digi SLR, Compact, Cameraphone, Film, Plate Camera, Pinhole - even at a push X-Rays (could be a useful way to fill an otherwise photo-free day) 🙂

My year so far and I have to admit there is a lot of scope for things to get a tad more exciting really, if I am honest.

Amazing - 3 people already! Well this will be a bit of a slow burner I feel - sure there will be quiet periods but i am sure there will be times in the year when the photos and stories get really interesting. We shall see huh?

Well that's today's photo done via blackberry camera. I will have to really think after just a few weeks as to how to vary the pics each day!

Oh and 7 members so we are really motoring.

Maybe some STW fat club members could join and post a photo a week say of their leaner meaner bodies : 0

I'm finding it a nice distraction during the working day today to think about "the" shot.

Glad I joined up now.....

Just joined too! Meant to when I first saw thread, gives me an excuse to play with my 1st DSLR, though I reckon there will be several dodgy one's from the phone to make it every day. Have missed 2nd/3rd already!

Dez

I like photos with people in but dont have any friends down here. Just a few colleagues really oh and Roper doesnt like having his pic taken when out riding. You dont have to look at my ugly mug you know - there are many more beautiful people on flickr 😀 For the record, I do realise I am no Brad Pit, Keanau Reeves or Justin Timberlake. I don't believe I have any misguided delusions of adequacy in that area.

Simon - yes! Nothing to do with not having you in them, but those 2 pics are much better photographs. Especially the 2nd one.

I've just joined the One photo every day 365 group on Flickr - I'm modalshift on there.

I'm enjoying the challenge, although I've found it much harder to get decent pictures this weekend in the grey murky light than it was last week with the freezing cold and the clear skies. Anyway, I'm hoping to keep going for the year - it can only help me get better!

Famous wildlife photog Jim Brandenburg did a 90-day stint, taking only 1 photo a day near his home in the late 1990s. It was featured in National Geographic (more info here) and was published as a book, Chased By The Light.

I post on a site that has people putting up a picture a day, not necessarily taken that day as some show a group of photos from a day out, spread over a few days.

Some great photos get posted there, It's called aminus3.com if anyone is interested.
