How can I put shortcuts to websites on my desktop when using Firefox? IE lets me do this via a right click on the address in the Favourites page, but Firefox won't let me do the same with bookmarks. Is there an easy way to put a shortcut on the desktop screen?

On a mac you can just drag them (click and hold on the image before the URL) onto the desktop.

Just drag it from the Bookmarks menu in Firefox to your Desktop.

You used to be able to drag a tab anywhere outside FF to create a shortcut. But that stopped working recently (in FF3?), so you need an add-on to make it work. Search for "bug489729"

i have FF3, and don't have that addon, and it works by dragging it onto the desktop - just tried and tested.

Yup, just tried dragging and it works perfectly in the latest version of FF, whatever version that may be. Thanks all.

3.5.5 - all works fine here with no add-on.
