I've volunteered to do the music for my 25th anniversary Uni reunion. I used to DJ at the Union at the time so got a few ideas, but could do with some suggestions from the older members as a lot of beer has swilled through my memory in last 2 1/2 decades. Everything and anything from cheesy pop, through early dance,/electro, indie, rock and alternarive please.

... and where's the cheapest place to download loads of random tracks ... legally!

cheesy pop: Erasure, Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Fine Young Cannibals, The Bangles, late Abba, Tiffany, New Order, Adam & The Ants, perhaps a little too early for Stock/Aitken/Waterman

rock: any hair metal e.g. Bon Jovi, Van Halen (as mentioned above), Beastie Boys, G'n'R, Poison etc

alternative: Sisters Of Mercy, Fields Of The Nephilim, New Model Army, Killing Joke, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Meteors

Rap: Run DMC, Melle Mel, Grandmaster Flash etc

blurring the lines: The Damned (Eloise, Grimly Fiendish); Siouxsie & The Banshees, Big Audio Dynamite

Just use the soundtrack to Grosse Point Blank

The man speaks sense. Or any John Hughes film, with a pinch of Duran Duran.

Cheers kids - with a special mention for john drummer, right on the money. It's all coming back to me now. that is virtually my old set list. Completely forgotten about erasure and FYC. Sime early hip hop too.

Dexy's good call too. Always a floor filler.

Good work!
