Fairly fit 4meAge, and doing a couple of asprin in the lead-up nights(four or five times) a year before some fairly hilly long distances races.
Am I halving one risk whilst doubling another ?
If you have had previous cardio issues and are seeking to avoid a recurrence you should ask your doctor about this not a cycling forum where advice is just opinion. Only he or she can weigh up the possible benefits against the risks explain them to you and prescribe the right dosage.
Neither, and unless you already have ischemic heart disease don't bother.
No role for aspirin in primary prevention these days, hasn't been for years.
Might make you bleed more when you crash though.
i was on warfarin for 4 years then asprin for the last year of heart illness.
2 week after a successfull surgary my heart surgeon stopped all tablets.
i would not take asprin without a Dr's say so.
Nope No Cardio Problems .
Haven't seen a doctor since 17 when I had a chest infection.
Probably retired by now 🙂

iirc he probably was using it a a blood thinner to counteract the thickening effect of epo in the early days.

yep. Most of that's secondary prevention. We stopped using it in hypertension and diabetes a few years back.
