So....

My Granny has given me £50 for Christmas from (only just) beyond the grave. Obviously I'm not going to throw it into the black hole that is my bank balance at the moment, I want to spend it on something nice. And I want to spend at least part of it on something that I can keep forever.

What should I spend it on?

Take a nice photograph, or use one you already have, and have it printed onto canvas and mounted.

a nice swiss-army knife or leatherman?

got the latter for my 18th from the parents and they had the leather pouch stamped with my surname. It will last forever if I look after it and it goes almost everywhere with me.

super-dooper.

When my Grandad left me some money I bought a watch.

Not sure you'll get one that will last forever for £50 but you should go for something you'll use regularly. The Swiss Army knife is a good idea.
