My nephew is going to be 21 next month - he's my wife's brother's kid but we've all become quite close over the last five years (bro-in-law got divorced and came to live with us for 6 months etc). So we want to get him a decent present but I am have brain problems deciding what to get him! He's at uni up in Aberdeen and has recently taken up boxing (not sure I want to encourage that!)... Anyone here have any ideas? Nothing rude, and 'that new PS4 so I can come round and play it' has been vetoed by the wife, bah. Thinking about 100+ quids, might go more if its an interesting thing he could use for years!
He's never showed any interest in cycling sadly, as his dad is a dedicated roadie 😕
Ask him what he wants? Better that than giving him something he doesn't, or even worse, giving him cash. He's a student - cash = lash.
Decent engraved watch? Any idea of his interests..or what he is studying?

We have dropped heavy hints, he's a typical 21 year old though! The last few years he's been really quite introverted but he got a job at this years edinburgh festival and had a great time apparently, and is starting to open up properly as an adult* and doing proper social stuff, which is great... VanMan, your idea of the watch is a pretty good one (I hate wearing one myself but I can see the point! He can always pawn it if things get hard 😆 )
When *I* was 21 I was given 50 quid and told not to come home sober!
*also he has some amazing new girlfriend. He goes beetroot!
