Came on to start a thread. Well done. Having watched the semis i predict a good show. IMHO some very good acts tonight. And love the uks entry though fear it won't do too well with the professional jury so will have tough time doing well.

And we're off!

I'd this guy wins he is going to invest in some eyebrows.

He looks like a camp Kurgen.

Once hubby comes out of the shower, we'll be watching Giro D'Italia highlights. The male compere is definitely stuck in 1974 (maybe that's on purpose).

Not sure that there was a good working at height risk assessment done for Delta Goodrem.

Croatia pretty good.

I like the UK one, he's had most success with the crowd too.

(Given my usual success rate, that means nil points to both of these).

Ours was suitably Eurovision bonkers. No idea whether it's worthy of the left hand side of the scoreboard.

Moldova seem to be banking on a song that repeats the word Moldova so may times the All you can remember for voting is Moldova, Moldova, Moldova, Moldova.

Got the crowd going too.

Yeah really hope Sam/LMNC gets a respectable score, was a good fun song, he seems a genuine guy, with a genuine passion for dicking about with homemade synths. I’ve been enjoying his YouTube content since he got announced as the UK entry, he seems to have a few old orange frames hung up in his workshop.

Sweden seems to have missed the memo that COVID masks are no longer required for travel across Europe.

LMNC was good, but a bit disappointed he didn't play his furby organ, surely that's his USP and Eurovision loves a crazy act.

Good!

Have to say I wasn't very impressed with Austria's presentation though. Not a patch on Liverpool the other year.

The usual mix of non-descript Euro electropop and WTF moments. Needless to say Greece won that particular aspect, although special mention for Lordi in the interval among the montagey bit.

The 'for the Dads' award goes to either Germany or Cyprus in their 'costumes? Let's wrap ourselves in bogroll' look, but still no-one has come close to the Polish milkmaids from 2014. Don't pretend you don't enjoy the FTD bits.

I thought the clearly not European entry of Australia was the best. Another blow out for the UK. Seems among all the chaos some world orders remain pretty stable.

Other thought - very quiet thread on here. Is this a measure of the decline of STW forum that I think we all know is happening but seems to be denied in STW towers. A quick google shows that a few years back EV was running to 5 pages, this is barely a quarter of that, and even less than half of last year. Or was everyone boycotting? I couldn't be bothered to post because refresh rates were getting slow and no-one else was, the Guardian live blog kept me entertained though.

My family didn’t engage in anything to do with Eurovision this year because of Israel . My daughter is a true fan of the event but refused to watch. Hence I heard social media engagement was down more than 50% this year
