Google-fu letting me down. What's the biggest rotor size I can run on a 2014 Reba (or to put it another way, will a 183 be OK)?

Don't know what the max is but I've run a 185 Avid rotor happily on various Rebas over the years

203 wasn't an issue on mine.

I thought I had a 180 and bought a new rotor. It turns out it was a 183…

Edit - looks like 215mm max

I've run 200 mm rotors on some 2005 Rebas since 2005. The whole maximum rotor size thing is silly, you can brake hard enough with a 150 mm rotor to send yourself over the bars. Sending yourself over the bar with a 200 mm rotor will not stress the forks any differently.

That appears to be for a reba 29, which and this is a guess a 29er.

Info here.

Max for a 2014 Reba is 210mm Specced specifically at 26"

With the larger adapter, would the stress not be being applied at an increased offset from the mount bolts?

The force on the mounts on the fork will be the same if you're at the limit of tyre adhesion or lifting your back wheel off the ground.

So the adapter repositioning the caliper by e.g. 20mm relative to the mounts doesn't affect the direction or distribution of forces on the mounts? Pushing into the upper mount, and pulling away from the lower mount.

Not as much as people assume. If a 150mm rotor can generate enough braking to put you over the bars, a 200 mm rotor isn't going to overstress anything.
