Any problem buying last years anti-virus/ PC protection software? Much cheaper than 2012 version...

I'm assuming the interface will be different to this years, but surely the virus updates should be current?

Is there something I'm missing?

(Probably Webroot btw, although principle applies to any package I guess)

With so many good free AV programs around. Why would you buy one?
I've been using avast free version for years and it hasn't let me down yet.
BUT
to answer your question you should get 12 months of updates from the moment you register your 2011 software so it should be safe to use.
