So brought my dad an apple tv box but his tv only has one hdmi port which he uses for his sky box. So then brought him a splitterbut he can't get the apple tv to work with it.

Sky works in either port of the splitter but apple tv does not.

ANybody got any ideas on how to make 'em both work from/in one hdmi port?

Cheers,
Christin

It sounds to me like it may be the lead from the apple tv not working? I bought a cheap 3 way splitter off ebay and it works fine with apple tv, sky and a ps3.

It's the wrong splitter you've got - that's ONE signal to 2 displays

EDIT: You need something like this http://www.tesco.com/direct/tesco-3-way-hdmi-switcher-connects-3x1-hdmi-output/208-2922.prd

You sure that's the splitter he's / you've bought- cause that's never going to work for what you want. That's for one device, 2 tv's.

Note too that some devices get proper fussy about splitters.

As above, you need a switcher not a splitter
