I need to replace my ageing 18650's, is there a go to place.? I normally get them from ebay which can be a lottery. Are there any reputable online shops.?

Torchy on eBay is probably a good bet.

scavenge them from old laptop batteries.

usually only one or two duff cells in them, the rest are good.

You will need a decent charger for them though that tells you the capacity ad internal resistance of each cell.

When opening them up take great care not to short them and set them on fire. They can explode if shorted.

It's what the Chinese do and then shove them on ebay 😉

Not sure if MTB Batteries sell cells or just battery packs, you can always ask them.
