How difficult can it be to keep count of what day I’m on! Had a great walk on south coast yesterday on what I thought was D21 - but just read thread and realised it was D22 😀. Out for a road ride shortly for D23.
Nearly 25% done!

Haven't posted in here until now but I've been following this and have managed to succeed so far with a mixture of MTB, turbo, bouldering, walks and weight training. I must admit it's quite satisfying seeing a big block of activities on my Strava training log!

If I don't get ill before Xmas I'm quietly confident I can get this done. Back on the MTB this morning after a big 43km 1200m day yesterday.

Had a therapeutic/ cathartic few days in Chesterfield looking after my mum post spinal op. Thursday and Friday were dog walks in Stone Edge quarry, where we spent a lot of teenage time "sessioning" one particular trail and rocky chutes. Yesterday was a run along Curbar and Baslow edges - bit shorter than planned but didn't feel great so no bad thing. Then walked around Holymoorside rediscovering more trails of my youth and visiting Dad & Dog's ash scattering spot. Lovely part of the world. Yoga this morning to stretch it all off.

2hrs on the single speed today. Can’t stop eating but feel like I’ve worked hard for it. Toad in the hole for tea and it doesn’t stand a chance

7k walk Friday evening, MTB Saturday and just been for a run/walk with my wife. Only 4.3k but she's not been well this week and I'm still sweating like mad and knackered!

Had to exercise indoors today. Flood warning was at RED - Danger to Life level and bit of the town are submerged.

Coincidentally, Zwift sent me a "we've not seen you for a while" email with a promo code for a free month so I'll count that as a win!

A few hours down the local beach with the RC club and our crawlers this afternoon followed by a Zwift session. Honing in on 25 days without a missed day, really happy with that!

Perfect for your wife's "dip a day", though?

Not doing the challenge this year - I've got a couple of races coming up, so knew I'd be tapering/recovering and it wasn't going to happen. But I'm enjoying following along with all your activities, and it's great to see a few of you are starting to notice real gains from doing it!

And the photos, obviously 🙂

Went for a walk to see the waterfalls at Blaen Y Glyn Isaf in the Brecon Beacons today, not a huge distance but a tough walk so plenty of calories burned. Took the little truck with me too.PXL_20231009_101453113PXL_20231009_110921872

One day I might actually go for a walk somewhere without it 🤣

Road ride after work. The weather is beautiful, better than July and August, really warm and a most noticeably light breeze. Perfect cycling conditions and I’d say the best I can remember for some time.

I spent much of today taking some photos of the flooding - at one point checking out my planned route for tonights running club.

This is the 18th tee at Dalfaber Golf Course...

-1_2_0_2023_10_09_11_56_34_MAX_0347
And looking along the fairway...
-1_2_0_2023_10_09_11_58_06_MAX_0348
Made it out for dip-a-day in the enigma that is Loch Vaa (water level has risen a whole 7cm in a week 🙂  )
PXL_20231009_144536300
And then 11km with running club tonight, trying to keep up with the young 'uns.

24. Was hoping to make it 2 days in a row on the mtb but life got in the way. So, another full body pilates vid, this time with Isa Welly. Decent.

I reckon I’m starting to loosen up a tiny bit. Less rigid fridge; more wobble, like IKEA chest of drawers.

Some great efforts being posted on here (put mine to shame).

25% tomorrow… yehudi!

Gonna try the MTB again tomorrow after loosing track of time today. Had to settle for a 30 min cardio blast in the gym, treadmill, ski machine, rower.

Day 25 is a lap of the Twrch trail at Cwmcarn. I've struggled to get round it the last few months but today I managed it pretty easily, even got from the tollbooth to the top picnic table in a few seconds over 45 minutes! My fastest time for that was back in 2017 at 27.57 (and in the middle of a 45 mile ride) and I've struggled to get under the hour the last two years due to complete lack of fitness. Really good to see and feel positive progress from all these cumulative days adding up. Might even set myself a challenge of getting into the 30-somethings by the end of this.

Up and down a ladder all day and I have just cycled to the supermarket and back. Feeling a bit fatigued but can’t remember the last recovery day. Next one could be tomorrow!
Edit, those pictures of the golf course!! Incredible that down here we’ve been enjoying summer.

Yep. Quiet day for me. Did an hour or so of weights/yoga and will have a leg stretch to the pub and back later.

Went for my first ever bike ride with a cycling club yesterday (strictly off-road gravellish based;non of that chain gang stuff for me!! I'm too unfit and waaayy too slow 😂). That was part of my self-help - getting out there and getting through the anxiety. I survived. It was good too 😁

Today, instead of driving to the office to pick up a couple of things I'd forgotten last week, I pedalled there after I'd finished WFH for the day. Tomorrow will be walk only as I'm away for the day at HQ.

Struggled last couple of days, just seemed to be really busy. I actually nearly forgot yesterday. Managed to fit in some yoga before bed.

Just a walk tonight. Hate this bit where it's starts getting dark early, just starts to get hard to get enthused. I need to start trying to do stuff in the mornings.

25. Post-work ride around the Abergavenny Alps. Warm enough to wear a t-shirt, even after sundown.

A nice way to mark the 1/4 mark.

This challenge is great motivation to keep going until the days are getting longer.  Another 5k on the gym treadmill today, not my favourite thing to do but at least Garmin told me I only needed 23 hours recovery this time.  On my first attempt I think the Garmin formulas were taken by surprise and estimated four days to recover!

Cadence drills, again

Still, it's drizzly and cold and dark and without this challenge and that Moog film, I wouldn't have gone so thanks 👍🏻😁

Day 26

7.5 km run at an easy pace, checking out the damage to the tracks from the weekends deluge.

30 minutes post-run yoga with Kassandra.

And another trip to the crannog in Loch Vaa.

There's been a distinct lack of cycling happening, which I really need to put right!

30 mins kata and chinning bar, couldn’t face weights and press ups etc. A little bit light weight but will do a decent bike ride tomorrow, might even chuck in an interval or two
