Wife picked up her new car last week and the steering wheel and radio appear to have buttons for a hands-free phone set up. Does anyone know if the 320d of that era has the grubbing installed just not wired up? Or if it was just cheaper to use the same kit but not put the bits in? If already in, how do I activate them? If a kit can be bought to make it all work, where from and any idea of how much?
Cheers.
Is it not just Bluetooth?
Turns out it doesn't have the necessary bits, so the buttons on steering wheel and dash are cost saving...they are there but without the wiring not functional...will look at a Parrot system.
If its a standard din slot, it may be better to just replace the radio. The wires from the steering wheel controls are probably behind the current radio terminated in a connector. You can get adapters for the connectors for aftermarket radios. I'd pull the radio out and have a shufty.
