Been trying to find a solution to Zwift not regulating the power on the turbo vs using the Tacx App and missing out on the Zwift fun.

Can I do the following at the same time:
- use the Tacx App on my Ipad to control the Turbo via Bluetooth; and
- run Zwift on my laptop via ANT+ so I can still join in the Zwift races and stuff.

Anyone running this set-up?

Yes. I do that, usually when I just want to do zone 1 rides. Just control the power in the Tacx app on my phone over bluetooth and have all other stuff connected to zwift on the laptop via ANT+ (other than the controllable option.)

In my case, I want to run a bit of ad-hoc erg mode stuff without having to create some sort of programmed workout in Zwift (which would only do power anyway, not a lot of the other parameters you can tweak on a Neo.) I could run the Tacx web app on the laptop simultaneously, that might just work (ah it won't, you need the full on desktop app which is only in beta on Windows so won't work on my Mac.)

Anyone tried the Tacx desktop app? It's meant to have a bunch of analysis tools and stuff like that. Be quite interesting to see what it's got.

Can you use Zwift to regulate the power on the turbo? I didn't know you could do that hence thought the way to do it would be to use the Tacx app to do that?

Only in the context of a specific workout, and then you'd need to program the workout with the power which you can't then change dynamically.

If you want to use ERG mode while riding along and tweak the power on the fly, then you need to do as you originally suggest.

yeah, you can - sort of. you could create a workout and set power to whatever you fancy, then ride in erg mode.

Not sure it's configurable on the fly like the tacx app seems to be though
(actually I think there's a +/- button to alter your FTP in real time)

(sorry, I misread initially and thought you couldn't get zwift to simulate gradients)
