The AA batteries inside my bar-mounted fenix torch were rattling around loudly on my night ride on Thursday. Would a bodge of wrapping a bit of card around the batteries to give a snug fit be alright? What I'm not sure of is if the batteries get hot over the course of a 2 hour ride.
Also, my rechargeable batteries (2700mAh) don't seem to be lasting as long, and by the end of the ride the torch was giving out very little light. Is there any way of giving them an extra boost or is it time to invest in new ones, and if so, what and where from?
Ta.
Card may be too thick, a couple of wraps of sellotape should sort it
Ta for that. Am I right in thinking that a few cycles of recharging and using actually improves battery performance? They hadn't been used for months.
7dayshop rechargable AAs are the dogs'. I use them for my flashguns and never had any failures. Even the five year old ones are still going strong.
Oh, and you can get 2900 Mah ones now!
cheers u-r, ordered for £4.50, nice one
Try checking the light output with fully charged AAs and disposable alkaline AAs. The voltage difference (1.2V vs 1.5V) can make a huge difference to the lumen output...as seen on the £8 DX P7 torches using 3x AAAs.
