Trek Full Stache 8, 2020 model. Came with a Guide RE rear brake, which is fabulous, the front not so much, a Guide R. Swapped the front calliper for an RE after the initial shakedown ride showed just how poor the original brake is.

Interested in the RE brakes. They're badged as being for E-bikes. Is that only in stopping power?

Lovely bike that, trying to decide if I like the rear triangle though. Slightly Orange 5 ish?

They’re sold as e-bike brakes due to the stopping power, which suits this bike nicely as the total weight including me on top is circa 110kg.

Appreciate the positive responses.

Nice bike.
Just out of interest, what's the difference between the guide r and re?
I've got Code R's and I'm pretty underwhelmed by them. Looking for other options.

The RE uses an older Code calliper, so bigger pistons? Got them on my ebike. Pretty impressive IMO.

Like that Trek 🙂

When I bought an ebike I was disappointed to see that it came with SRAM brakes but I was soon very impressed by the REs. In fact when the ten year old Shimano brake on the back of my HT gives up ,I will replace it with an RE.

That's lovely, Trek have been making some stunning looking bikes for a few years now, even their ebikes look bloody good.

Zero issues with Guide R - wonder if they prefer warmer climate?
