Well as Llandegla was rather busy with the Dualathin happening, we decided to head to the Marin.

Starting from the car park over the bridge in Llanwrst, off we went, did a few of the single track sections twice (where getting back to the start was simple on fire road).

At the end of the day we all reached the same conclusion, why on earth do we not ride there more often, it's more natural feeling than Llandegla, not as busy and is longer.

The weather was pretty good too, only a bit of light drizzle about half way round and not too cold.

It's was my first ride on new tyres - Nobby Nic Evo 3C's in 2.25" flavour, massively impressed am I, grip like a Maxxpro High Roller but roll like an Exception Ignitor and they're pretty large on the volume side of things too, handy over rocky bits.

There were a couple of encounters with people missing trail manners, the sort who come up behind you and just barge past after sitting on you back wheel, this happened to the lad on the Green Genesis, he's only been riding 6 months so he isn't that quick on the downs and one numb nuts who professed to needing a full suss to ride there, we turned to each other and suggested he should get a helmet first ๐Ÿ˜†

Many more visits to here and Penmachno are planned over the coming months.

Here's a little pic - helmets were removed for the pics and promptly replaced before we set off again.

Genesis Core 20, not a bad bike for the money although the wheels and hubs are a bit on the crapola side, non series shimano hubs and Alex DP17 rims, heavy and bendy would be a good way to describe them.

They come up quite small for the size, short top tubes, feels a good inch shorter than my Handjob which is the same size apparently!

the sooner people realise that praising any given route online means hundreds more users - the better.

lets face facts, llandegla is the one, the only, the bestest proper full on 'core mtb venue in the land.

there is nowhere else worth riding.

get your mum to drive you to llandegla.
