As per the title, I've abnormally shovel-sized mitts and I'm looking for recommendations for suitably chunky grips. Is Oury still the go to or are there other options around?

I did like Oury. Currently using Diety Supercush. They're ok too.

Biggest ESI grips are the Plush and the Fatty. Both come in at 35mm, and are ribbed (f'narr f'narr...)

Uberbike Fatgrip is my go to grip. Been using them for a couple of years and they're great. Also Size 11 hands.

Ergon GP1 style grips? Not sure I have massive hands but often need XL to get long enough fingers. The wing bit of the Ergon is going to give better and wider support for a big palm.

There seem to be a few variants of Oury grips going around. Can someone post a link to an example of the ones that are being referred to?

(I’m a fellow XXL gloves bloke and never bothered thinking about grips, just used the ones that cam on the bike - but would like to try some more appropriate sized ones.)

If you do have properly big mits then Sensus Meaty Paws are the only option. 38mm of girthy hand hold, I wish that they existed 20 years ago. Don't fanny about with the Oury ones, not worth it!

Wolftooth mega fat paws are also rather good if you want a silicone grip rather than lock on.

I have Sensus meaty paws on the FS and wolftooth on the HT. Both are the best for big hands for their respective uses .

They felt big for all of 30 seconds after years of riding Oury or Odi rogues but now anything else smaller feels like gripping pencils and leads to hand fatigue!

I’ve got size 10 hands, in the XL glove category. I saw the Deity Supracrush grips recommended somewhere, so I gave them a go and love them.

They didn’t seem to be that common, but amazon have them and I paid £20. Would definitely recommend them.

was just about to order some Meaty Paws direct from Sensus from, but then seems to be available from here and with 20% off:

https://freerideuk.co.uk/collections/sensus/products/meaty-paw

Order placed.

be interesting to see how they compare to Deity Supacush (nice dia, but short) and then chunky silicone options from WT and ESI.

I’m a WT fatpaw user and happy. I’m only an XL hand though.

Meaty Paws are 35mm diameter - PNW Loam XL are 34mm diameter. Not tried em, but they are available in black, so should be worth a go

Ah, my specialist subject, and something I also asked about on here. ESIs are good but spongey, the Ergon ones mentioned above are OK, but don't feel big enough for me. By far the best I've tried are the Wolftooth Fat Paws, which are indeed fat, but less spongey than the ESIs.

Meaty Paws are 35mm diameter

Curiously it says this on their website. Original press release (e.g. freehubmagazine), and me measuring mine in the garage, say 38mm. So unless they have changed them for some bizzare reason they are actually 38mm!

I must be the only one with shovel-sized hands who likes the thinnest possible grips and bar tape. What am I missing out on?

I've got hands like a baboon. As soon as I get a bike a set of Lizard Skin Northshores go on. Proper chunky!

Thank you all - BTW I'm definitely after a lock on grip so there's some good options in this thread.

I’m size 11 hands (XL) and switched to Ergon GA2 Fat grips. I’ve tried ODI etc.
Loving the Ergons

I bought some of the PNW Loam XLs. They are lovely and will gradually go on all my bikes.

Dropped one on the garage floor and it picked up a load of fluff! Proper sticky.

Anyone ever tried reprofiling the silicone grips? (ESI / WT style?)

I have big hands but short fingers

I like my normal size ESI grips, but they're a tad thin.
I like my Fat Paws ... but they're a bit thick towards the thumbs meaning I get a bit sore at the base of the thumbs, so i was thinking of 'carving' them down slightly but don't know if the material will take it or what the best method would be.

First ride last night on the Sensus Meaty Paws most excellent. The extra grip length as well as the extra girth is great - a much better grip than the Deity Supacush.

think i like them better than the WT and ESI fat silicone as well.
