XXL E-Bikes?

Mate of mine is looking for an e-bike and at 6' 5" wants a big lad XXL. I pointed him towards the SC Vala but it seems the alloy one doesn't come in that size? Mondrakers come up big looking at the geometry and the £6.5k Amflow is an option and top of budget but are there any others he should be looking at?

Trek Rail+ in XL goes up to 6’5”. I’m nowhere near (5’8”) but I’ve just picked up my 9.7 for £4500 and it’s a great bike. Admittedly my first ebike and hence first experience of full fat ebike riding but it’s very capable, got decent spec kit on it (much of which is upgradable such as the Zeb Select) and power and range feels like more than enough for me.

SC have traditionally only offered their XXL sizes in carbon. Guessing that’s continued with the Vala.

There’s the Heckler SL in XXL like I have but as much as I like the motor, I’d struggle to recommend given the lack of future for Fazua.

I’m 187cm and even at that height I didn’t think the XXL Amflow was that large in nines at least.

Mondraker’s probably the best shout.

I'm 6'2" and ride a Large Trek Rail9GX. I find the fit absolutely spot on even though in theory I should be on the XL. So, your mate needs a XL Trek Rail perhaps?

XL Mondraker is an XXL in anyone else's sizing... Crafty has a 520mm reach in XL and suggests for riders of 6ft3 upwards...

Great bike too...

I've got an XXL Santa Cruz Heckler SL. As already mentioned, SC only do XXL in carbon for some reason. I'm presuming your mate was put off by the price of carbon bikes.

If not, Atherton seem to do a huge array of sizes. Specialized also seems to have a Levo in "big".

There definitely aren't too many ebikes that are big though.

@big_scot_nanny of this parish has a Crafty R in XL and he's a big chap, 6'5 IIRC. Only broken it once so far. Both him and me also ride XL Geoemtrons with 535mm reach so we like 'XXL' bikes, although Kev's more inline with the suggested sizing than I am.

Spotted an ex demo Merida E-180 outside Sherwood Pines bike shop and commented out loud that 'holy cow that thing is massive'. Not sure if it was classed as XL or XXL but it was much bigger than the XL Vala parked next to it. Would be a good option for a big lad!

Must be a visual thing as the E180 and Vala, both in XL, are within a few mm in reach and wheelbase. I only know because I saw a E180 in person too and was curious, thinking the same that it looked 'kin huge!

I'm just under 6' 5"

The new Whytes have a big XL size with a long reach.  Haven't checked since the relaunch but there was a size larger than the Nukeproof Mega I bought 5 years back (mines an XXL and I think there was another above that).

The Amflows definitely come in a wide range of sizes.

Cheers all, he's gone for a Mondraker.
