Hi, does anyone know if xtr m975 chain rings are standard or specific i.e. what can I buy to replace them?

They are 104mm BCD like most Shimano rings. However the interface between ring and crank arm may differ between rings from other groupsets.

Middleburn do a set that fit.

You need 2mm spacers on the inner ring, and most aftermarket rings won't be an aesthetic match, but any 64/104 BCD rings will fit.

FWIW the middleburn XTR specific ones are absolutely atrocious! Worst shifting I have ever experienced! Standard XTR rings all the way!

Mine both have a deore middle/outer ring and an SLX inner ring- the SLX needs spacers, the deore would look ugly if it wasn't hidden behind a bashring. Perfect.

(I won't have middleburn rings on a bike again, after about 5 rides the last one was like a chainsuck grenade thrown into an otherwise tidy drivetrain)
